Arlington, TX - The Dallas Cowboys and Competitor Group, Inc. (CGI) today announced a new event for NFL fans to combine their love of running with their passion for the hometown team at the Cowboys Back to Football Run. The 2013 race is set to take place at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, September 7.

Debuting the day before the season opener against the New York Giants, the Cowboys Back to Football Run invites fans to share in the glory of the gridiron while supporting a healthy and active lifestyle by completing a 5K (3.1 mile) distance. Participants will have the unprecedented opportunity to finish their race on the 50-yard line at AT&T Stadium, the home of their beloved Dallas Cowboys.

"The start of the football season is our favorite time of year, and with an important home opener, we look forward to getting our fans and community involved in the excitement of the game in a fun and healthy way," said Charlotte Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer for the Dallas Cowboys. "We are also proud to participate in the NFL's Back to Football race series to encourage participation in our PLAY 60 initiative and raise funds for The Salvation Army as we continually look for new ways to engage our fans beyond game day."

All participants will receive an official race technical running shirt and the opportunity to attend a post-race Rally Day with Dallas Cowboys Alumni, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and fan entertainment. The event also includes a Cowboys Play 60 Kids ½ Mile Fun Run that finishes on the field.

Fans are invited to purchase the Back to Football Rally Day ticket with their race registration. The Rally Day includes the choice of a VIP guided tour or self-guided tour of AT&T Stadium and activities will be available on the field from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The race is part of the NFL Back to the Football Run Series, which features 5K and 10K races in partnership with the NFL and several of its Member Clubs. 12-14 Clubs are expected to hold races in their respective cities in 2013. A majority of the running events will take place in conjunction with the opening weekend of the NFL season and will include autograph opportunities and NFL skill challenges at each location.

"We're thrilled to see this series grow and be embraced by more teams around the country as running continues to evolve and reach new participants," said Jamie Monroe, Event Director. "The NFL Back to Football Run Series welcomes families and fans of all ages to enjoy a fun day of celebration, while also making the positive choice to get moving and have a healthy lifestyle."
